The Farm and The Lodge

My sweet friends Emily & Dean got married in June, and you know… It’s always a little rough when you have to throw on a dress and heels right when your feet and back are ready for a hot bath, but ‘friend weddings’ are the best. And I was so glad we were able to contribute. It’s a great party. And everyone you like is there! Plus, her mom cried when she peeked into the tent and saw the reception all set up and sparkling. Victory. And if the bride likes it too, that’s just more icing on the wedding cake.

The vintage advertising-labled cigar boxes were a "huge hit", especially after the bride rolled out the cigar cart after dinner, outside the tent, for "Gents-Only"

In case you wanted to remember back in the day, before cell phones. I think some guests had never seen the black "telly" before tonight.
My dear friend loaned me her vintage cameras, the other props were mine. All added to the setting of vintage and eclectic look.

Just love the sweet look of the scalloped cooke on the herbal-green napkin and of course the mason jar of field inspired flowers.

Whatever was right, went fast I think 14 gallons.

Drift wood blocks hung over vintage trunks to hold cards and gifts.

All the long tables, randomly set with style and farm-house appeal.

Vintage Camera-Styled Wedding

The setting was a lovely golf course and country club near Port Huron, Michigan. Four Lakes Golf Club.

The bride a professional photographer, with a very artistic eye and me her event designer. It began with a very 1920's Great Gatsby club appearance, tall white columns, with ostrich feather plumes.
Cigar boxes of all kinds stacked and piled with the old vintage cameras, collected by the bride and others. Styled with clear medicine, perfumes, and old collectible poison bottles in all shapes and sizes. These dimensions were tied together with a running theme of blush pinks, peach and field-looking greens.

The Lodge and the Farm, Port Austin, MI

In a cottage, in a wood . . .

A young maiden by the window stood....

Saw some flowers blooming nearby . .

help me, help me she said  . . .

before they wilt and die . .

The Lodge and the Farm, Port Austin, Michigan

In a cottage, in a wood . . .

A young maiden, by the window stood . . .

Saw some flowers growing nearby  . . .

Help me, help me, help me she said, before they all bloom and die . . .

So the loved ones, gathered them and brought them nearby.

Now a wedding, can begin . .  while she is safely in his arms.
